Joe Montepare Jr. ~ Lead Vocals
Joe is a second generation musician in the Upstate, NY area. He grew up listening to lots of great local players. So, like father, like son. Joe started The Outta' Hand Band and has been rocking the Northeast with them for the last 7 years. They play an average of 150 gigs a year.
After the band went through some changes, Joe decided to step from behind the drum kit to become the front man for the OHB. And thats when "Big Daddy" was born. With his soulful feel, Big Daddy gives 110 % to the people. Not only does he sing but he has perfected the art of being a Frontman and puts the show back into live music with his costumes, stage presence and antics.
Big Daddy has also been invited to perform with most of the top local acts (The Fridges, The Burners and Al Bruno). Joe also jumps back behind the kit every once in a while. He has dropped beats and recorded with local and international acts. Joe was able to do some drum work on Dan Toler's (Dickey Betts & Great Southern, The Allman Brothers Band, The Gregg Allman Band, The Toler Brothers Band, and the Dan Toler Band) latest album, "Year of Tears". He has also worked with recording artist Nancy Rockland Miller. Joe has played with local acts such as: The Girl, Lesson 69, Joe Roy Jackson and Scotty Mac as well as The Joe Montepare Band (Dad's Band). He's also shared the stage with Pat Travers, Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Henry Butler and Doug Wimbush (Rolling Stones & Living Colour.)
Here is a picture of Joe's first gig. Thanks Mom, nice haircut!
